It’s hard to believe but I’ve been Bezulu’s Executive Director for two years.
For the longest time, when friends or strangers asked me what I did for a living, it was really hard to explain!
Now my answer is pretty simple. I run a nonprofit that works to ensure every child, everywhere, is raised in a loving family.
That dream seems impossible. As you’ve followed our journey, you know we feel a deeply personal calling as a family to this mission. For years in Uganda, we saw firsthand how systems that were supposed to protect children and keep them safe kept failing instead. Things have only become more complex. The global pandemic caused the orphan crisis to explode, and inflationary pressures pushed families everywhere into poverty and brokenness.
But, when you’re faced with an overwhelming problem and an unyielding determination to fix it, you just break the problem down. Here’s how:

I hope that helps you understand what we are building with Bezulu!
I spent 503 days unemployed after we came home from Uganda, and I got sick. I’m still dealing with the physical and mental consequences of being so ill for so long. But I’ve now spent 730 days working to build Bezulu. I’m not sure when I’ll stop counting, but it won’t be for a while yet. I’m still so very grateful for my health, for my family, and for a God-given calling and purpose: to make sure every child, everywhere, is raised in a loving family.
If you haven’t joined us at Bezulu yet, will you help us make this dream possible?

With love,
Josh Guenther.
